“I am the pilot, but i need a committed crew”: Researching early childhood education and care leadership by using the actantial model of power

Leadership in Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) is changing globally. We investigated ECEC leadership leaders’ interpretations of power its realization between leaders followers, a little researched topic the field. Our theoretical framework consists contextual knowledge prior research attached with Michel Foucault’s Mary Parker Follet’s perceptions as positive, relational discursive microphenomenon. essay data ( N = 46) was written by center before participating educational in-service training. The method analysis Greimas’ actantial (1979), which enabled us to build two models perspectives relation power. Findings indicate that leader-centered, unstructured hiding concept needing conscious reframing integration positional non-positional leader roles community.
